Osterly Park and House
Osterly Park and House is one of the few surviving country estates in London, dating back to 1700’s for the Child family. It took over six years to restore them to how they originally looked in 1780 after it had become overgrown and unkept.
Today the park and garden are flourishing with ornamental flowers and vegetable beds, while the summer house itself is surrounded by scented scrubs and lemon trees. Osterly House is a perfect place to visit if you are interested to see a true historical backdrop including all the furnishings, galleries and rooms. The house is so accurately preserved that it is often used for filming for many historical films and series.
The house and gardens are a little out the way of Central London and other attractions, but gives you a good opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle for an afternoon. You can access the gardens via the Piccadilly Line to Osterly Station.
Entrance is ticketed.
